Disclosed is an image processing device which specifies an image range, to be subjected to specific processing, in captured images that are taken at predetermined time intervals and inputted sequentially. The image processing device has a processing capability that generates within the predetermined time interval a reduced image with a magnification of K (K=1), on the basis of one captured image that has been inputted. Every time a captured image is inputted, a magnification of M or below (M=K) is selected for the captured image from among varying magnifications of L (L>K), on the basis of the magnification specified for the captured image that was inputted before said captured image. Each of the reduced images generated at the selected magnification of M or below is crosschecked with the template image, and the image range is specified on the basis of the crosschecking results.
