<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a staircase suitable for remodeling by supporting one or both sides of a footboard with a pole to eliminate a stringer, and making construction work efficient and simple. <P>SOLUTION: The footboard 22 has an end face in the stair width direction W<SB>0</SB>, and has a nosing side 25 and a riser side 25a on both sides in the direction of a step surface size. The fixture 1 is constituted by providing almost vertical stationary plates 7, 7 continuously to an almost horizontal support plate 2. The poles 28, 28 fixing the fixtures 1, 1 are attached to pole floor receiving tools 31, 31 fixed on a lower floor 35. The stationary plate 7 (at the nosing side) of the upper step side fixture 1 and the stationary plate 7 (at the riser side) of the lower step side fixture 1 are fixed to one pole 28.
