<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow more complicated image composition processing to be performed with a lower latency. <P>SOLUTION: An image reading control unit 131 reads and processes control information relating to composition processing stored in a storage unit 132, and supplies it to each unit as appropriate. An image clipping unit 151 clips a region, designated by first partial mask information supplied from the image reading control unit 131, from an inputted image. A size correction unit 152 corrects the image size of a partial image clipped by the image clipping unit 151 to the size designated by the first partial mask information supplied from the information reading control unit 131. An image composition unit 161 connects together each partial image according to total mask information supplied from the information reading control unit 131 and generates a composition image. A CG composition unit 162 superimposes CG information with key information supplied from the information reading control unit 131 on the composition image.
