<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a push-pull lock which can be attached to a narrow space such as a jamb of a door. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This push-pull lock 100 has a lock bolt 25 horizontally projected from the jamb 17 when the door is closed, and accommodates and holds the lock bolt 25 by making the bolt retreat by opening the door, and comprises: a conversion mechanism 33 which inputs a push-pull operating physical force in the same direction as a door opening direction as a rotational operating physical force around an axis perpendicular to a door surface 11a into an operation shaft; a locking claw which regulates the turn of the operation shaft in the protruded state of the lock bolt; a link mechanism which is driven by an unlocking shaft undergoing unlocking turn so as to release the regulation of the turn by the locking claw; a slide cam plate which is slid in the longitudinal direction of the jamb by the turn of the operation shaft so as to make the lock bolt 25 driven in a receding direction; a first urging means for urging the slide cam plate in the direction of protruding the lock bolt 25; a ratchet claw for holding the lock bolt 25 in a receding position; and a releaser actuated by a magnetic repelling force by a body to be locked when the door is closed to release the holding of the lock bolt 25 by the ratchet claw.
