<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that evaporation and deposition of various organic compounds, especially low-molecular weight components generated from coatings used occur, because a ketone resin suitably used as a modifier for coatings has a low molecular wight. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A high-molecular weight ketone resin is characterized in that the weight average molecular weight is 5,000-300,000 in the ketone resin obtained from a ketone and an aldehyde. The high-molecular weight ketone resin can be provided by using a heterocyclic amine having an amidine structure and can be suitably used as a molding product and a film.
