<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a post-processing device capable of reducing any wasteful time when forming a punch hole in a paper sheet bundle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the post-processing device for forming a hole in a paper sheet bundle, a control unit acquires information on the thickness of the paper sheet bundle from an image forming device. The paper sheet bundle is stacked on a punching tray 66. A punching device 65 forms a hole by pressing punching blades 81a, 81b against the paper sheet bundle. The control unit controls the punching device 65 so that the distance L between fore ends of the punching blades 81a, 81b and the punching tray 66 when starting the forming of the hole by the punching device 65 is the value according to the thickness of the paper sheet bundle.
