STORAGE BATTERY

A storage battery is provided with a battery case having at least one cell chamber and also with a synthetic resin lid body (2) for covering an upper opening of the battery case. An upper lid (9) having a recess in the underside thereof and closing the recess is provided on the upper surface of the lid body. Positive and negative terminals (4) have lower portions embedded in the lid body at respective positions which are on one side of the lid body and on opposite ends longitudinally of said side, and also have upper portions respectively projecting from the same positions as above. There has been a problem where, in embedding a part of each of terminal sections by insert molding in production of the storage battery, fitting between the lid body and the battery case is difficult due to the difference between the percentage of contraction of those portions of the lid body into which the terminal sections are embedded and the percentage of contraction of those portions of the lid body at which the terminal sections are exposed. To solve the problem, projections (6T, 7T) are formed at those portions of the lid body from which the upper portions of the terminals (4) project and/or at portions near such portions.
