STARCH-BASED INTERLAYER ADHESIVE, AND METHOD FOR PAPERMAKING USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical interlayer adhesive preventing excessive migration of the interlayer adhesive sprayed or coated between sheet plies into the sheet plies even when receiving strong water squeezing actions such as suction in a pressing step or thereafter after forming a multiply sheet when papermaking of a combination paperboard having a multiply structure or the like is carried out. SOLUTION: The interlayer adhesive is obtained by mixing an aqueous slurry of undissolved particles of raw starch or a modified starch obtained by subjecting the raw starch to a nonionic treatment with an aqueous solution of a high-molecular weight cationic polyacrylamide derivative having an advanced structural type molecular structure, and sprayed or coated between the sheet plies to produce the paperboard or the like by combination papermaking.
