<p>Disclosed is a jig used in the manufacture of a bus frame. The bus frame is squared in the jig and welded. When the frame is complete, the jig is automatically opened without disturbing the frame. The jig is divided along its roof section by a centre roof divider mechanism (9) and its sides mounted to the floor by hinges (23). Operating hydraulic stands (16-22) causes each jig half to pivot, thereby opening the jig and allowing the superstructure to be removed. Use of this jig simplifies the construction of a bus frame, since it can be made as a single unit.</p> |
