The traffic sign assistance system has traffic signs or traffic infrastructure elements which are provided with transmitting devices adapted for wireless communication. A display device is formed for displaying information for travel direction which relates to the traffic signs and information. The information is derived from the driving condition of a vehicle and the current condition of the traffic signs.
