<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface plasmon sensor, capable of performing measurement over a wider range, using a simple constitution and the same optical system as that of conventional arts. <P>SOLUTION: The surface plasmon sensor includes: a metal layer 6, formed on a prism 5 translucent with respect to a wavelength of a light beam emitted from a light source 2, the metal layer 6 contacting a sample 14; and a light detector 9 for detecting the reflected light beam from the metal layer, with respect to each of incident angles of the light beam. The light detector detects the refractive index of the sample 14, by irradiating the light beam emitted from the light source 2 onto a surface of the metal layer 6, which surface is opposite to a surface where the sample 14 contacts, and the metal layer 6 includes a first metal film 6a and a second metal film 6b formed on the prism 5 mutually close. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
