<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system which notifies a user that the electric energy of a battery in a remote controller has decreased to some extent, and subsequently performs processing of remote control operation with power consumption smaller than that during normal operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A remote control system comprises: electronics having a function for detecting the electric energy of a power supply in a remote controller, based on a remote control signal received from the remote controller and notifying a user that the electric energy of a power supply in a remote controller has decreased; and a remote controller which detects the fact that the electric energy of a power supply has decreased upon receiving input of a signal indicating the fact that the electric energy of a power supply for driving the electronics has decreased from an informed user, and subsequently generating and transmitting a remote control signal shorter than that before the electronic energy decreases.
