<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a waiting time during use of the image forming apparatus can be utilized reliably and effectively. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A digital multifunction machine 10 starts copying an original set on the machine (at S13) when a user is authenticated (YES at S12). Concurrently with the start of copying, a keyword stored in a USB memory 25 is acquired (S14). After the acquisition of the keyword, the machine is connected with the Internet to extract information on the user by searching based on the keyword (at S15).
