<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device for preventing fraudulent operations and erroneous operations with a remote controller by a simple operation, a projector and a control method of the electronic device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The projector is provided with an operation panel for receiving an input operation, a reception part for receiving operation signals transmitted from the remote controller, and a control part. In the case that a power ON operation of shifting to an operation state is performed by the operation panel in a standby state, the control part invalidates the operation signals received in the reception part thereafter.
