PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rope strand disconnection diagnostic system of an elevator capable of easily determining whether damage of wire rope is light or serious. SOLUTION: This system has a strand disconnection detection part 6 for detecting a strand disconnection of the wire rope 2 made by twisting a plurality of steel wires, and a display part 9 for displaying a diagnostic result of the strand disconnection of the wire rope 2 according to data detected by the strand disconnection detection part 6, so as to display a strand disconnection status of the wire rope 2 on the display part 9 in separate stages based on a level calculated from a correlation between a strand disconnection output detected by the strand disconnection detection part 6 per constant zone and a number exceeding a threshold value of the output. In this case, a measuring waveform may be displayed on the display part 9 in separate colors for each stage according to a rank of diagnosis. Also, a portion where the strand disconnection occurs, and an elapsed time from a start of measurement may be displayed on the display part 9 correspondingly to the measured waveform.
