<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compacting device, even in the case a hole formed at the side face of a green compact is biased up and down than the intermediate position of the length in the compression direction of the green compact, the green compact can be safely compacted without damaging a pin and a die forming the hole at the side face by the pressurizing force of the upper and lower punches. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A die device 10 comprises: a die 11 formed with a pin inserting hole 13 into which a pin 21 of a lateral hole forming cylinder device 20 is freely slidably inserted; the lateral hole forming cylinder device 20 arranged at the side face 11c of the die 11; a guide rod 37 freely movably supporting the die 11 provided with the lateral hole forming cylinder device 20 to the compression direction of raw material powder 3; and a floating cylinder device 31 optionally supporting the die 11 to the compression direction in a floating state. The floating cylinder device 31 suitably floats the die 11 provided with the latent hole forming cylinder device 20 along the guide rod 37 by regulating the amount of a fluid in a pressure acting chamber 35 by a pressure regulating device.
