The cover (1) has a molding part (2) and a view covering (4) that covers the molding part, where the view covering is made of leather or a leather-like material. A layer (3) is provided between the molding part and the view covering and is made of a material which is softer than the material of the molding part. The constant wall thickness of the view covering is in the range of 0.3-1.5 millimeter. An intermediate layer is formed between the view covering and the layer (3) and exhibits a higher elasticity modulus than that of the view covering. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an airbag cover.
