PURPOSE: A display apparatus and a method for supplying power to the display apparatus are provided to save prime costs of a sub display, thereby enabling a user to use the display apparatus at lower costs. CONSTITUTION: A display apparatus and a method for supplying power to the display apparatus comprise the following units. An interface is directly connected to an external device and receives image data and power from an external device. Display units(110,210) display received image data. Controllers(120,240) control the display unit to be driven by using power received through the interface. The external device is one of an external display device or a host. The display apparatus uses only power received through the interface without received additional external power.
