<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the decrease of the effective switching capacity due to switch splitting loss and packet fragmentation loss when switching variable-length packets, in a multi-plane cell switch fabric system. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of distribution units classify input variable-length packets 20 for each address, arrange the packets by a first division length unit, divide the packets into fixed-length cell payloads 32 by a second division length unit that is an integer multiple being twice or more as large as the first division length unit, and form a fixed-length cell by providing at least destination information, a transmission source ID, a sequential number, and position information of packet head tail to each of the cell payloads 32. The cells are distributed to all switching units one by one whenever the same number of cells as the switching units which switch data asynchronously are prepared, and a plurality of arranging units classify the cells received through the plurality of switching units, by transmission source IDs of the cells, arrange the cells in order on the basis of sequential numbers, restore packets by position information of packet head tail of the cells, and output the restored packets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
