PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting influence of various object substances on sugar chain synthesis. SOLUTION: The influence of the object substance on the sugar chain synthesis can be detected by analyzing the amount, composition, and other properties of a sugar chain-extended compound extended by administering a sugar chain primer to a cultured cell in the presence of the object substance to be inspected, and culturing the resultant cultured cell.
