<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the remaining capacity of a recording medium of a copy destination cannot be used effectively because processing is terminated when data cannot be moved due to the shortage of the remaining capacity of the recording medium when moving the data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: According to a duplication order list prepared, data of a high priority order is duplicated if the volume thereof is duplicable, and duplicated data is deleted from the duplication order list. By repeating the duplication process until the duplication order list becomes empty, the data of the high priority order which can be stored in the remaining capacity of the recording medium of the duplication destination can be duplicated.
