<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical inhaler allowing a user to notice a wrong operation and eliminating any possibility of useless discharging of a pharmaceutical in non-use. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An air flow passage 8 having a mouthpiece 4 and a discharge head 6 are mounted in a body case 1. The discharge head 6 has a discharge face 9 where a discharge port is opened, faces the air flow passage 8, and a cap 10 for protecting the discharge port is disposed at a position in the other side of the discharge face 9, across the air flow passage 8. The discharge head 6 is mounted to the body case 1 via a mount portion (not shown) so as to approach or separate with respect to the cap 10. In inhalation, a drive electric connection section 11 is connected to an electric connection section 7 of a discharge signal generator, and the air flow passage 8 is opened. In waiting, the discharge head 6 is moved to an engagement position where the discharge face 9 is covered with the cap 10, and the air flow passage 8 is closed.
