Disclosed is a detection apparatus comprising: a container; a base layer which is fixed on the bottom of the container; and a reaction layer which contains cholinesterase and is fixed on the base layer. A sample is added to the detection apparatus to cause a color-developing reaction, and the presence of a cholinesterase-inhibiting substance in the sample is determined visually. For the detection of an organophosphate agrichemical, a sample is contacted with an oxidizing agent on a column to convert the organophosphate agrichemical into an oxone form thereof.
