The method involves inserting a device i.e. laser cartridge, into a barrel (4) of a firearm, where the laser cartridge sends electromagnetic waves (3) which appear as a light point on a focus target and the light point corresponds to a meeting point location of a bullet. The adjustment of notch-grains or a gun sight (1) is corrected such that a line of sight (2) corresponds to the light point that is produced by the laser cartridge. An independent claim is also included for a firearm setting up device comprising a sighting device.
