A receptacle for a coaxial connector reduced in size and height while ensuring reliability. The receptacle comprises an outer conductor (40) having a tubular part (41), a center conductor (50) having a contact part (51) axially extending into the internal space of the tubular part (41), and an insulator (61) holding the outer conductor (40) and the center conductor (50) in an insulated state. An extension area is formed by the portion of the outer conductor (40) extending in the direction perpendicular to the tubular part (41) of the outer conductor (40) and the insulator (61). The outer conductor (40) comprises outer conductor extension parts (42a), (42b), (42c) in the extension area. The insulator (61) comprises insulator extension parts therein. The outer conductor extension parts (42a), (42b), (42c) and the insulator extension parts have an approximately same thickness.
