PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an electric power steering system capable of performing energy saving and improvement of fuel consumption by restraining electric current consumption of a relay. SOLUTION: This control device of the electric power steering system is furnished with a power source relay and/or a motor relay. This control device is constituted so as to turn off the relays when a prescribed condition such as that an indicator current to a motor is roughly zero continuously for a certain period of time, is satisfied in a state that an ignition switch is ON after an engine starts.
