摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL device reduced in thickness by forming a sealing film having high sealing capability, and hardly cracked. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An organic EL element 2 includes: a positive electrode 3 formed on a surface of a glass substrate 1; an organic light-emitting layer 4 formed on the positive electrode 3; and a negative electrode 5 formed on the organic light-emitting layer 4. A first sealing film 6 is formed on a surface of the organic EL element 2 to cover the organic EL element 2, and a second sealing film 7 is further formed on a surface of the first sealing film 6 to cover the first sealing film 6. For the first sealing film 6, an inorganic material film formed by a dry method is used. The second sealing film 7 is formed by a wet method using a coating composition. The coating composition is formed of a mixture of a material polymer containing a polymer having a hydroxide group or a silyl group, and polysilazane, and a dry solvent dissolving the material polymer.
