<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating device for a vehicle capable of inhibiting a driver from driving without watching when the driver operates an operation part while driving. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The operation device for the vehicle 1 comprises: a vehicle speed sensor 2; an ECU 3; a switch 4; a switch illumination part 5; and a light sensor 6. When the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor 2 is not less than a predetermined value, the switch 4 is assimilated with its surroundings. Thus, it is difficult or impossible for a driver to visually recognize the switch.
