<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carpet which contains a large amount of an inorganic filler especially in a backing material, is excellent in strength and dimension stability and has a merit in terms of a cost, and its manufacturing technique, relating to the carpet for which the backing material whose body is a polyvinyl chloride resin is backed on the back surface of a carpet base material. Ž<P>SOLUTION: By applying the paste resin of polyvinyl chloride onto a continuously traveling releasing belt and uniformly scattering the inorganic filler on the surface immediately while the resin is not cured yet, the method of containing the larger amount of the inorganic filler in the backing material without largely changing the form of conventional manufacture equipment is established.
