PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine work machine having an exhaust pipe from which black liquid discharge is prevented by a simple structure whose size does not protrude over a transportation limit width. SOLUTION: An exhaust pipe housing 18 is provided in the upper part of an engine room 16 of a pile hammer 10. A muffler 19 is disposed in the exhaust pipe housing 18. The muffler has an exhaust pipe 17 for discharging exhaust gas discharged from an engine 15 to the outside of the work machine. The exhaust pipe 17 has a first exhaust pipe 17a connected to the engine 15 and a second exhaust pipe 17b for discharging the exhaust gas from the muffler 19 to the outside. The second exhaust pipe 17b protrudes from an insert hole 18a formed at one rear side of the work machine of the exhaust pipe housing 18, and is folded back toward the front of the work machine. The tip opening 17c of the second exhaust pipe 17b is disposed toward the side of the work machine at a position which does not protrude from the transportation width when transporting the pile hammer 10. Furthermore, a shuttering board 21 covering the lower part of the tip opening 17c is provided on the inner peripheral face of the opening 17c of the pipe 17b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
