<p>Reduction in power consumption and stabilised maintenance discharge are achieved. A maintenance pulse generating circuit comprises a power recovery circuit and auxiliary circuit. The power recovery circuit comprises a recovery inductor having a first winding, second winding and third winding, as well as a capacitor. The auxiliary circuit comprises a first auxiliary switch and second auxiliary switch. The maintenance pulse generating circuit accumulates energy in the positive direction in the first winding by putting the first auxiliary switch into a conductive condition immediately prior to the rise of the maintenance pulse. On the other hand, immediately prior to the fall of the maintenance pulse, the maintenance pulse generating circuit accumulates energy in the negative direction in the second winding by putting the second auxiliary switch into a conductive condition, so that when the maintenance pulse rises and falls, the current flowing between the power recovery circuit and the capacitative load becomes a current obtained by adding a current generated by the energy accumulated beforehand in the recovery inductor to the current generated by LC resonance.</p> |
