More terminals can be located in a limited band to achieve a higher transmission rate. The number of frequency signals (spectrum) which are frequency-spread from a DFT section of each terminal and are outputted in parallel is 12, while the number of subcarriers constituting one subchannel is 10 or 11. In this case, users (users A, G) assigned to the subchannels at both ends of a band do not perform the transmission of one of the frequency signals outputted from the DFT sections and users (users B to F) assigned to the other subchannels do not perform the transmission of the frequency signals (two subcarriers' worth) at both ends thereof. These kinds of transmission can be realized by deleting (clipping) the appropriate number of signals from both ends or one end of the frequency signals outputted from the DFT section of each terminal and assigning the frequency signals after clipping to each of the subchannels.
