<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data converting device capable of properly changing output results when converting a document file into raster data. <P>SOLUTION: A document file 40 includes display image data, dummy image data and code image data 44. The dummy image data is set so as to be overlappedly arranged on the display image data. When a user instructs to display the document file 40, a data converting part 12 acquires display change information 441 indicating the acceptance/rejection of displaying image data belonging to the document file 40 from the code image data 44. A raster processing part 123 does not use the dummy image data whose arrangement is not permitted by the display change information 441 for rasterization when rasterizing the document file 40.
