PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain fuel consumption, while preventing clogging in an adding nozzle.

SOLUTION: An adding pump 38 is connected to an adding nozzle 37 arranged on a cylinder head 15. The adding pump 38 supplies fuel to the adding nozzle 37. The adding nozzle 37 injects the supplied fuel into an exhaust port 32 of a cylinder 11. Operation of the adding pump 38 receives control of a control computer C. The control computer C estimates exhaust energy and a particulate matter discharge quantity, and specifies the injection timing for preventing the clogging based on a map Map1, the estimated exhaust energy and the estimated particulate matter discharge quantity.
