<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film which is durable against environmental change and has small alignment unevenness of a liquid crystal layer, and also to provide a polarizing plate using the retardation film, and a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The retardation film comprises a cellulose ester film and an optical anisotropic layer formed by coating thereupon such that cylindrical liquid crystal is vertically aligned and the alignment is fixed. The retardation film being characterized in that when one surface is represented as an A surface and the other surface is represented as a B surface, the cellulose ester film satisfies 0.95<[(the content of a plasticizer on the A surface)/(the content of a plasticizer on the B surface side)]<1.05, and an acoustic velocity in at least one of a film conveying direction and a width direction is 2.0 to 2.7 km/s at 23°C and 55% RH. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
