PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus performing reliable cleaning even when left for a long time. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: an image carrier with a photoreceptor film formed on the surface; a developing part that supplies a developer to the surface of the image carrier; a charging device for charging the surface of the image carrier; a transfer part for transferring a visible image formed on the image carrier onto recording paper; and a cleaning roller comprising ethylene-propylene-dien copolymer rubber (EPDM) as a main peripheral surface part forming material to clean the surface of the image carrier.
