PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of preventing failure that occurs in a battery circuit when a battery circuit operates in a state where an ambient temperature has reached a designated temperature in a charging device that receives electric power from a vehicle and charges a battery. SOLUTION: In the charging device 1, when the ambient temperature has reached a designated temperature T, a voltage level of a designated temperature detection signal is set to a low level. As a result, a switch circuit SW 1 cuts off the electrical connection between a DC power supply Vcc and a power supply terminal 43, and electric power supply to the battery circuit 42 is cut off to inhibit operation of the battery circuit 42.
