<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a nonwoven fabric, by which the nonwoven fabric having an improved mechanical strength can stably be produced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Provided is the method for producing the nonwoven fabric, including: spinning thermoplastic powder not dissolved in a polymer solution and having a lower melting point than the melting point or decomposition temperature of the polymer in the polymer solution, accumulating the formed fibers, and then heating the accumulated fibers to fuse the thermoplastic powder to the fibers. The heating is preferably carried out in a range of the melting point of the thermoplastic powder ±30°C, and it is preferable to press at 0.98 MPa or less, when or after heated.
