<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collector capable of avoiding the formation of a space where dust does not move by force with which the dust tries to move with airflow and gravity canceling each other, and efficiently recovering the dust, in the configuration of collecting the dust by the airflow in the dust collector. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The dust collector is provided with a plurality of fan devices 7 arranged in a room and generating a dust collecting airflow 12 in the entire room by changing the direction and volume of the airflow in a manner associated with each other, and a dust collecting section 8 provided near a floor surface in the room and collecting dust moving with the dust collecting airflow 12. Since the dust collecting airflow 12 is generated as a swirl flow having a rotation axis substantially perpendicular to the floor surface, force with which the dust tries to move with the dust collecting airflow 12 and force with which the dust tries to move downward by gravity do not cancel each other and, as a result, the dust can more easily move with the airflow, enabling easier collection of the dust.
