The arrangement (11) has a convertible top movable between a closing position and an open position by an actuator. A passenger compartment is partially covered in the closing position. The passenger compartment is partially released in the open position. An optical detector unit (12) e.g. laser scanner, partially detects movement of the convertible top. The optical detector unit is arranged at a cross beam (20) of a roof frame, at an inner sided rear view mirror or outer sided rear view mirror of the vehicle.
