<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline dry cell having a high reaction efficiency and a superior discharge performance. <P>SOLUTION: The alkaline dry cell is equipped with a battery case of a bottomed cylindrical shape, a positive electrode of a hollow cylindrical shape which contacts the inner face of the battery case and contains manganese dioxide powder and graphite powder, a negative electrode which is arranged in the hollow part of the positive electrode through a separator, and an electrolyte. A crack of nearly circular arc shape in cross-section vertical to the axial direction of the positive electrode is formed in the positive electrode so as to extend in the axial direction of the positive electrode, and the density of the manganese dioxide in the positive electrode is 2.15-2.30 g/cm<SP>3</SP>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
