<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brushless alternator for a vehicle, capable of improving stability of rotation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The brushless alternator 1 has a field portion for generating magnetic flux and an armature for receiving the magnetic flux generated in the field portion and generating an electromotive force. The field portion is provided with a field coil portion having a conductor wound therearound and fixed on a rear frame 4B, and a pawl core claw portion 3A in which a plurality of claw-like magnetic poles 31, 32 as a laminate having a plate members laminated are formed and used as rotating portions. The pawl core claw portion 3A has a structure in which both end portions of a shaft direction are held by a rotor holder 3B fixed on a freely rotatable shaft 6 and a rotor holder 3C supported freely rotatably on the rear frame 4B via a bearing 12.
