PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily change the specifications of a processor device matched with the specifications of an endoscope and to recognize the specifications after the change. SOLUTION: The endoscope system 2 comprises an electronic endoscope 10, the processor device 11, and a light source unit 12. The processor device 11 is provided with a timing/driver circuit 36, an image forming circuit 37, an image processing circuit 38, a display circuit 39, a RAM 40, a ROM 41, an input/output I/F 42, an intrinsic information read part 43, a system controller 44, and dip switches SW1-SW6. The dip switches SW1-SW6 are selected matched with the specifications of the electronic endoscope 10.
