PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waterproof connector capable of surely preventing a liquid such as water from adhering to a connection part or the like between a terminal fitting and a wire; and a method for manufacturing the waterproof connector. SOLUTION: This waterproof connector 1 comprises a terminal fitting 2, a connector housing 3 and a sealing member 4. The terminal fitting 2 has a wire connecting portion 22 connected to an end portion 6a of a wire 6. The connector housing 3 is integrally molded with both of the wire 6 and the terminal fitting 2, and embeds at least the wire connecting portion 22. The sealing member 4 is formed of a synthetic polymer having adhesion properties and elasticity. The sealing member 4 is wound around both a part, embedded in the connector housing 3, of the end portion 6a of the wire 6, and a part, embedded in the connector housing 3, of the terminal fitting 2 to be in close contact with the end portion 6a of the wire 6 and the terminal fitting 2.
