摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power unit which is easy of design though it is faithful to electromagnetism and is high in power conversion efficiency even in repeat frequency over 1 MHz and is excellent in electromagnetic compatibility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An isolated electromagnetic wave concept is applied to the circuit design of the switching power unit. A MOS FET 6 is connected in the middle of a loss path 32. A low impedance loss path 3 is connected between a DC power source 1 and a loss path 32. Isolated electromagnetic waves, which are excited on the loss path 33 during the switching period when the MOS FET 6 switched over from OFF to ON, progress as they attenuate while dropping the voltage on the power supply side of the loss path 33 to its half and raising the voltage on the load side to its half. The isolated electromagnetic waves, which have reached the DC power source 1, progress while raising the voltage of the loss path 33 to power source voltage, with their polarity inverted, and they raise the potential of a reactor 8 to the power source voltage, and disappear.
