An optical disc device frequency divides a recording clock signal to generate a frequency-divided clock signal, and determines the test light emission pattern for test recording in order to control the power of an optical beam output from a light emission unit based on the frequency-divided clock signal. When the line speed during recording is changed, the frequency division ratio is adjusted so that the change in the frequency of the frequency-divided clock signal becomes smaller. In an optical disc device which controls the laser power by the test emission light in multi-pulses in the test domain, good detection precision at the multi-pulse average can be maintained even at double the speed.
|
