SUPPORT SYSTEM PROVIDING ASSISTANCE IN THE OPERATION OF A ROAD NETWORK WITH QUALITY OF SERVICE

The invention relates to a supervision system which provides significant support to the operators of large road networks. Image sensors, which are electrically autonomous and include automatic incident detection software, transmit alarms to a network management centre via a wireless communication network. Positionable cameras can be pointed at the alarm zones so as to perform zooms displayed on the operators' screens in the centre. The alarms are ranked in order of technical priority and then as a function of quality of service criteria defined by the operator. They may be divided into alarms requiring immediate action and other alarms. They may also be divided into alarms for which an automatic action may be triggered and may suffice for resolving the incident and alarms requiring an action by an operator.
