<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device preventing deformation caused by the heat of a lenticular lens. <P>SOLUTION: The electro-optical device includes: a liquid crystal display device LD including first and second substrates 10 and 20, and a liquid crystal layer LQ sandwiched between both substrates, for displaying an image in accordance with a change in optical characteristics in the liquid crystal layer in accordance with an electrical signal; a lenticular lens 40 disposed outside the second substrate, viewing from the liquid crystal layer; and a deformation compensation plate 60 disposed outside the first substrate, viewing from the liquid crystal layer, for compensating the deformation of the lenticular lens 40. As shown in the figure, the light propagates in directions DA and DR through the lenticular lens, then, a stereoscopic image can be displayed. If the lenticular lens is deformed, the establishment of the propagating directions of the light may be under threat, and so as to solve the problem, the deformation compensation plate 60 prevents the deformation of the lens beforehand. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
