<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear motor that is compact and has a small footprint, along with a lens driving device mounted with the same, a camera, and a mobile phone with the camera. <P>SOLUTION: In the linear motor 7, an oscillation member 23 includes an axial member fixing part 25 and an oscillation plate 27 that can elastically deform. An oscillation surface of the oscillation plate 27 is provided along the axial direction of an axial member 21. A piezoelectric element 29 is fixed to the oscillation surface of the oscillation plate 27. When a pulse current is supplied to the piezoelectric element 29, the piezoelectric element expands or shrinks to make the oscillation plate 27 deform elastically so that the oscillation plate protrudes or retreats in the direction (E) across the axial line of the axial member 21, allowing the oscillation plate to repeat elastic restoration.
