<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light emitting device capable of installing a circular polarlizing member without bending it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic light emitting device 11 comprises a substrate 1, a display portion provided on the substrate 1, a supporting member provided around the display portion on the substrate 1, and a circular polarizing member provided above the display portion and the supporting member. The display portion is equipped with an organic light emitting element portion, a resin layer 5 formed to cover the top and side faces of the organic light emitting element portion, and an inorganic compound layer 6 formed to cover the top and side faces of the resin layer 5. The organic light emitting element portion comprises a first electrodes layer 2 formed on the substrate 1, an organic compound layer 3 formed on the first electrodes layer 2, and a second electrodes layer 4 formed on the organic compound layer 3.
